Across the UK, it is becoming increasingly common for public toilets to introduce charges, with people now being asked to pay to use facilities that were previously free.

In light of this, we’ve carried out an investigation into the growing issue of public toilet charges across the UK, and found that 1 in 4 public toilets now require payment, with Brits forecasted to spend up to £8.8 million a month to use them. This equates to over £105 million a year. 

This means people are increasingly having to pay for something they can’t avoid. Whether commuting or travelling, using a toilet is a basic, everyday need that is too often overlooked.

No one should have to think twice about using a public toilet when they need one.
