Free Narges Mansouri! She is a political prisoner in Iran. Her life is in danger!

The Issue

To Amnesty International:

Narges Mansouri's life is in danger! Be her voice

Narges Mansouri is a human rights, women's, and labour rights activist and political prisoner in Iran. The Islamic Republic has sentenced her to five years in prison because she is one of the signers of the letter known as "the 14 signatures" campaign. The campaign, which 14 women activists signed, demanded Khamenei's resignation and government change in Iran in 2019.

On August 12, 2019, security forces arrested Narges Mansouri while she was returning home from work. After three months, on November 13, 2019, she was released on bail until the end of legal proceedings.

Narges was out on bail when she was arrested again in May 2022. She was beaten so hard that she vomited blood. Since then, she has been deprived of fundamental human rights in prison, such as visiting her son. In addition, she got fired after 24 years of working in a bus company with no compensation, her payroll was stopped, and her bank account was blocked. She has vocalized her and prisoners' rights, making her jail time longer as the judiciary keeps filing new complaints to give her extra time. On top of that, It has been a while since her family provided the court with bail money, but Narges still has not been released with no excuse from the judge.

Although Narges Mansouri suffers from acute and chronic diseases, she has been on a hunger strike since Jan 2023 to raise awareness and fight injustice, but her health is deteriorating fast.

Her life is in danger! Be her voice!
