Free Mahmoud Khalil. Stop His Unjust Detention.

Free Mahmoud Khalil. Stop His Unjust Detention.
The Issue
Mahmoud Khalil is a permanent U.S. resident, community leader, and longtime advocate for Palestinian rights. He lives in the U.S. with his wife—a U.S. citizen who is 8 months pregnant.
In December, Khalil earned a master’s degree from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, where he played a major role in student-led protests against Israel’s war efforts in Gaza.
Despite holding a valid green card, Khalil was suddenly detained by ICE on March 8, 2025 — a clear violation of his rights.
Targeting a lawful resident for his activism is an attack on free speech and due process. Revoking a green card without justification sets a dangerous precedent. As the New York Times notes, green card holders are protected by the Constitution, including First Amendment free-speech rights and Fifth Amendment due-process rights.
Sign this petition to demand Khalil’s immediate release and stop his deportation.
Khalil’s detention is a threat to basic freedoms—if it can happen to him, it can happen to anyone.
