Waldorf acquired the valkyrie project from Mr. Manuel Caballero back in 2018. After a quick cosmetic change, they put it into the market with the name Kyra.

Despite strong requests from the community of users, they did not release any significant firmware update.

Now in 2023 they declared no further firmware update is to be expected.

The valkyrie/kyra is an FPGA implementation, so in practice it is a software designed synth, with much lower limits of hardware ones.

We as kyra users asks Waldorf to release the code of kyra firmware into open source in order for the community to take over their unfinished work.
