Hi All, I hope you are well. "Assange extradition put on hold. The British High Court in London has put the extradition of Julian Assange on hold until the United States provides assurances that he would get a fair trial without facing the death penalty."
The USA will have to provide the UK Courts assurances that Julian Assange will not be discriminated against as he is an Australian Citizen and not a US Citizen. This I believe is in reference to previous statements made by USA government officials that Julian Assange will not be protected under the US Constitution as he was not a US Citizen. Meaning, that Julian Assange would be prosecuted under the laws of the US with no protection under its constitutional safeguards.
This petition’s absolute twin focus is freedom for Julian Assange and to stop the extradition. Hence to extradite Julian Assange to the US, even if the case fell apart in the US would result in a failure for this petition.
This petition’s grievance resolution is to prevent the legal precedent of extradition being established in international law in relation to a non USA Citizen in another country or even in their own country having to answer to US law for what they publish in the public interest. This extraterritorial legal jurisdiction is completely unacceptable to all people of the world period. Hence forth this case would need to be dropped by the US government. There is no justification for an international legal precedent for non USA Citizens to be extradited to the USA to face their laws. Julian Assange did not publish anything in the USA, he published in Europe and he is an Australian Citizen. The establishment of extraterritorial reach of the US “in-justice” system to cover every citizen of the world is nothing short of a Totalitarian Coup D'état through the stealth of legal precedent and this must not be allowed to happen, under any circumstances.
However and realistically, let us think and examine as a “fly on the wall”, so to speak: The USA will now have a difficult choice to make. Will Biden want Julian Assange on every newspaper across the USA? The USA cannot possibly prosecute Julian Assange given he now must be protected under the US Constitution (First Amendment). Unlike Daniel Ellsberg who was a whistleblower. Assange is the publisher & not the whistleblower as there is a clear distinction here. Daniel Ellsberg (RIP) was employed by the RAND Corporation, when he released the Pentagon Papers, a top-secret Pentagon study of U.S. government decision-making in relation to the Vietnam War, to The New York Times, The Washington Post, and other newspapers.
Whistleblowers are often bound by employment contracts which they breach if they release the "Inside" intelligence/intellectual property/confidential information to a publisher/public such as the New York Times and Washington Post. I must make a distinct point here that many often (even within this campaign) incorrectly refer to Julian Assange as a "Whistleblower" and on that point and in specific reference to this case Julian Assange is not a whistleblower, he is the publisher/journalist. To set the record straight Julian is and always was the publisher/journalist of the leaked information in this case. The whistleblower that delivered the leaked information to Julian Assange was Chelsea Manning (formerly Bradley Manning), who was imprisoned as a whistleblower because Chelsea Manning breached her employment contract of non-disclosure with her employer (The US Government). Chelsea Manning was pardoned by Biden and is now a free person.
For the US government to be prosecuting Julian Assange under the US 1917 Espionage Act in the USA would be politically impossible for Biden. I state right now that in my opinion the British courts have just cut the legs off this case, politically and legally for the Biden administration.
In my opinion the Biden Administration would collapse in a heartbeat the moment Julian Assange landed in the US (metaphorically speaking here). Because the precedent would snare all publishers of government leaks in the US. Hence this would kick start un-unstoppable press hostility right across the US against Biden and the administration, hence the bursting of the propaganda bubble.
Biden will have to drop this case or he will be replaced with some one that will drop this case. It will rapidly become a something like a very hot IRISH POTATOE.,,,so to speak.
I refer back to my statement that this petition would fail the moment extradition happened. If Julian Assange was extradited, then Biden’s nightmare would begin the moment Julian Assange landed in the US. Julian Assange will be an icon right across the USA of freedom of the press and freedom of exchange and access to knowledge and understanding of public interest information. The propaganda machine will back fire on the US government, both Biden and Trump will wear it, but in particular Biden as he has his hands on the extradition levers at the present and all this crap will blow back on him.
It is only Biden that can save himself from political suicide and save his party and also save the other side of the same US a duopolistic totalitarian coin, i.e., the Republican Trump caravan.
In this INFORMATION WAR of Propaganda for War we will witness if Julian Assange is to be extradited and this petition fails, we will see the journalists and talk show hosts right across the US all turn hostile towards this TOTALITARIAN Coup D’état through the stealth of legal precedent, because that is exactly what is going on here.
We know the script of the Totalitarian Coup D’état because it was written by Joseph Goebbels the Nazi Minister of Propaganda 1933-1945, when he ordered the arrest and torturing to death of publishers like Fritz Michael Gerlich and Carl von Ossietzky. We know because history has taught us this repetitious totalitarian lesson.
