The Issue

My name is Cynthia Robinson, and I’m fighting to save my 92-year-old father, Johnathan Robinson, a U.S. Army veteran who is being held against his will under a devastating and abusive conservatorship in Sacramento, California.

Despite serving 26 years in the military, including multiple tours in Vietnam, my father is now being isolated from his daughters, stripped of his rights, and denied the dignity he deserves.

Here’s what’s happening:

 • My father is allowed only one one-hour visit per week with me and my sisters, but only if we submit a written request 72 hours in advance. These requests are often ignored, leaving him completely isolated for weeks at a time.

 • All visits are video monitored. We are not allowed to hug him, hold his hand, or speak to him in private.

 • He is not allowed to go to church, attend the senior center, walk in the park, call us, or visit my mother’s grave.

 • He is not even allowed to sit in the front yard of his own home, where he has lived for over 50 years.

 • His $275,000+ in savings and $10,000/month retirement income have been depleted.

 • On July 2, 2025, a motion was filed to seize his home and remove my sister from the deed.

 • We now believe he may have suffered a stroke, as he cannot speak, and his face appears twisted, yet we are still being blocked from seeing or helping him.

This is not care.

This is modern-day slavery.

And isolation is elder abuse.

Who is Johnathan?

Johnathan Robinson is a loving husband of over 60 years, a proud father of four daughters, a faithful churchgoer, and a respected member of his community. He dedicated his entire life to his country and family. He has asked repeatedly to be released from this conservatorship so he can be surrounded by his daughters in his final years.

What we’re demanding:

 • A full investigation into this conservatorship and all parties involved.

 • A wellness check to assess his current medical condition.

 • Immediate restoration of his rights to receive visits, make calls, and live freely.

• Immediate termination of the conservatorship.

We need your help.

Please sign this petition to demand justice for my father and call for Governor Gavin Newsom, Attorney General Rob Bonta, and the Sacramento District Attorney’s Office to take urgent action. Time is running out.

Help us bring our father home.

Help us end this nightmare.
