Free Herbie Moore from wrongful incarceration
The Issue
In June 20 2010 Herbie Moore, was arrested and wrongfully convicted for a murder he did not commit. For over a decade, he has been languishing in High Desert State Prison, paying the price for a crime he never committed. It wasn’t until January 2017 that the truth finally emerged when Brian Porter confessed to the murder that Herbie was charged with. Porter’s confession was not only written and notarized but also sent to the state district attorney's office, shedding light on Herbie's innocence.
Despite this new and compelling evidence, Herbie remains unjustly imprisoned. His incarceration has robbed him of 16 precious years, years that could have been spent with family, building a career, and living a life of freedom. The injustice of the situation is compounded by credible evidence that police officers threatened potential witnesses during the original investigation, which may have contributed to the wrongful verdict.
Wrongful convictions can happen, and when they do, they devastate lives. Herbie's case is a glaring example of the system failing its promise of justice. Each day he remains behind bars is a day too many. This issue concerns all of us who believe in a fair justice system and the rectification of its errors.
Herbie's freedom is not just a personal plea; it is a call to action to uphold the integrity of our judicial process. The evidence is clear, and action must be taken to correct this grievous wrong. Herbie Moore deserves a fair hearing, his freedom restored, and his name cleared.
I urge the Nevada State Justice Department and Governor’s office to immediately review Herbie Moore’s case, acknowledge the new evidence, and initiate the process for his exoneration. Let us unite and stand for what is right — for Herbie, for his family, and for the countless others who seek justice. Please sign this petition to show your support in freeing Herbie Moore and rectifying this miscarriage of justice.
