Tristin Johnson started this petition to State Senator Frank Ginn and

Seagraves Lake is a small watershed tucked away in Northeast Georgia. Its history goes back to the 1800s.  The lake is an established ecosystem and habitat to wildlife. The Georgia Safe Dams Act said the dam needed repairs, which my family couldn't afford. Madison County, seeing the value in the lake, took responsibility of the dam over 10 years ago; saying they would fix it. Now, Madison County has backed out of their promise to complete the dam repair with the help of politician, Frank Ginn.  The dam is in good condition.  Repairs were done. There's one house in a flood zone that makes it a problem. If it rained 30in in 6 hours, that house would flood.  Because of that house, Safe Dams calls the lake a level 2 instead of a level 1.  And Frank Ginn says Madison County doesn't care anymore and to drain it.  I've asked Frank Ginn to apply for grants; which he ignored my request. I asked him about the fish, turtles, egrets, etc that depend on the lake. He basically told me it wasn't his problem. He has no regard for wildlife and the ecosystem that the lake is responsible for. Please support my petition to save Seagraves Lake.  I've emailed UGA about finding possible endangered species, which could put an immediate stop to draining the lake. I don't know what else to do, but I still have hope. We need to let Madison County and Frank Ginn know that Seagraves Lake must be saved. It's more than a watershed. It's part of Madison County history and a way of life for so much. Any ideas appreciated.
