Help stop racial discrimination due to the COVID-19 outbreak
The Issue
On a Fox News segment on March 2, 2020, Jesse Watters demanded an apology from China over the novel coronavirus. On that segment, he made comments suggesting that China has "hungry people" and that the "Chinese communist government cannot feed its people, and they are desperate. This food is uncooked. It's unsafe, and that is why scientists believe that's where it originated"

I'm requesting your support with signing this petition. My ask is for Jesse Watters to issue a public formal apology to the Asian community for his comments, and to acknowledge that his comments may invoke or cause discrimination against Asians.
His comments do not help with solving or easing the public's fears of the coronavirus, and it may fuel anti-Chinese sentiments and xenophobic behavior in the U.S, and elsewhere. At a time like this, all humans, regardless of race should all be working together to fight the virus and share information that will help curb the virus - not spread hate and false information. Should we also be asking the US for an apology when the 2009 H1N1 was discovered to have originated in the US? Link to source of H1N1: https://www.cdc.gov/h1n1flu/information_h1n1_virus_qa.htm#a
We've already heard of news about Asians being physically and verbally attacked because of their ethnicity. Jesse Watters' comments only fuel racial discrimination against Asians. Please support me in stopping this inexcusable behavior and encouraging all of us to extend each other empathy, compassion, and common decency (and not to spread unwarranted hate) in such critical moments.
