Thanks to a loyal fan on the Facebook page, I discovered an article where Clifton Campbell, show runner for "The Glades" reveals significantly more about where Season 5 was going and his interaction with A&E. Here are a few highlights I took away from the article. First, A&E's ratings are down 35 percent year over year since cancelling both "The Glades" and "Longmire". Let this be a cautionary tale to other networks who dare mess with their audience the way A&E did. It will cost them in trust and viewership. Second, Mr. Campbell reveals that his plans for both seasons four and five were not only pitched to A&E, but were APPROVED. They knew full well what his plans were for the show all surrounding who shot Jim, while carrying on the same style fans loved. How incredibly insulting it was to all those associated with the show to then just cancel it halfway in. None of us on in the viewing audience really understood or knew how surprised the cast and crew were by the cancellation. I would have to believe that word of this type of behavior has already traveled within the industry, and any talented writer like Mr. Campbell won't come close to pitching a drama to A&E's family of networks knowing how they might handle it. He goes on to reveal more about the plot, but I will let you read it for yourself. But needless to say, he is still keeping hope alive by not revealing too much and indicating "Never say Never" to some type of finishing off. Keep those season five scripts locked up tight, Mr. Campbell. If we have anything to do with it, you will be needing them one day. We continue to support all the cast and crew as they move to other projects. Here is a list of recent developments and updates on where they are at. -Clifton Campbell, show runner, is working with Fox Television on a new show. Although details are not yet available, I'm sure it will be fantastic. We look forward to hearing more and being able to support him in his continued battle to "Win the war against bad television". -Uriah Shelton, aka Jeff, was recently a guest star on Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World". He has indicated on his official Twitter (@uriahshelton) that there will be more appearances to come on the show. Perhaps he will become a series regular. -Jordan Wall is continuing to present his short film he directed around the festival circuit and promises a look for us online as soon as that is done. -Carlos Gomez was recently on a Hallmark Channel special titled, "One Christmas Eve". You can catch a repeat on December 10th, 12th and 13th at different times. Check your cable or satellite provider schedule for details. -Kiele Sanchez's new drama "Kingdom" on DirecTV was renewed for 24 additional episodes! I've been watching it and love the way they take the time to develop the character's over this last season. It's gritty and heartfelt all at the same time. -Matt Passmore will continue his show "Satisfaction" on USA Networks and rumor has it, there is another small project he is working on (or maybe has finished already). When I have more details, I will let you all know. Please take the time to support these, and other projects, you see the cast on. If I miss something, let me know @TheGladesAddict on Twitter. It could be awhile, but "Never say Never" on a return of "The Glades". Thank you all for your continued support. http://www.post-gazette.com/ae/tv-radio/2014/10/19/TV-Q-A-Who-shot-Jim-Longworth-on-The-Glades/stories/201410190022
