Four Million Salmon PERISHED in 2025 in Tasmanian Salmon Farms

Four Million Salmon PERISHED in 2025 in Tasmanian Salmon Farms
The issue
Here is a picture of ONE olympic swimming pool.
In 2025 enough salmon PERISHED in salmon farms in Tasmania to fill SEVEN olympic swimming pools.
That's FOUR MILLION salmon. Dead, because of poor practice.
This is NOT good enough and the penalties under the Animal Welfare Act must be enforced.
And Tasmanians must be asked - do you think this is acceptable?
We are calling on the Premier of Tasmania, the relevant Minister/s, the relevant Departmental Head, and the Board of the RSPCA to enforce the Animal Welfare Act which states that a person must not cause or allow an act that causes unreasonable/unjustifiable pain or suffering to an animal; [and if] cruelty results in death or serious injury to an animal, tougher penalties apply.
We have the equivalent of SEVEN OLYMPIC SWIMMING POOLS FULL OF DEAD SALMON.
We demand immediate action!
This petition was started by a small group of Tasmanians, with a lead who has 30 years working in the State Public Service and will pen the letters required to the personnel who need to take action.
