We call the board of trustees at Lake Forest College to divest its endowment holdings from fossil fuel stock.

The endowment comes largely from alumni that want their donations to contribute to a brighter future for Lake Forest students, one without a climate crisis. Current practices with Lake Forest College’s investments in fossil fuel holdings go against these sustainable and moral values, shifting away from what the campus and student body stand for.

Ongoing global climate issues make this decision as crucial as ever. We call the institution to seriously re-evaluate their current financial choices, as the actions of the administration should reflect the values of the students and institution itself. 

We also call students, staff, and faculty at Lake Forest College to demonstrate their support for the movement to divest from fossil fuels. We have the power to create tangible changes at the college, and this power must be exercised at a dire time such as the current climate crisis.
