I'm a pensioner with a long memory. I can remember when water and sewage provision was a public service with ethics. After all people used to drink polluted water and die young, now we can go bathing in our rivers and seas and get poisoned by the very organisations set up to provide the foundations of public health. Water organisations are complacent and rotten to the core. They need to fix their own mess and that means diluting their equity, meaning shareholders pay not customers. Renationalisation would just mean that the customers pick up the bill. 

Water is a fundamental of society and clean water or lack of it affects everyone. Politicians and regulators have completely failed to ensure clean water for everyone and strong measures are required now.
