Hello,
Here is a screenshot of a section of the email response I got from Britt Haley on June 13th 2019:
I will now clarify.
The first meeting for the public comment process for the land swap was held on February 24th 2016 at Gold Camp Elementary School.
At that meeting Sara Bryarly gave a presentation for Parks Dept.
She stated that the section of the Barr Trail on the land that was owned by the Cog Railway had drainage problems, and that the hillside had erosion damage.
Since that night I have been asking how much it will cost to repair those issues.
That was the only time that Sara Bryarly gave a presentation, and the city never mentioned those issues again, in spite of my asking in emails and at public meetings throughout the entire public comment process.
This is all documented on my COS Land Swap Facebook page, it has emails and material that I presented at public meetings going back to March 2016.
The city opened the door by mentioning the drainage problems and erosion damage.
They cannot refuse to provide the details if asked.
Why were we not told that the city of Manitou Springs was spending $40,000 a year doing repairs to the Cog Railway land?
The public needed to know that, and to know how much the total estimated cost of all repairs would be.
Manitou Springs has not repaired those issues.
Why is that?
Too expensive for their $40,000 a year budget?
The city failed to provide relevant financial information that was requested during the public comment process, please get the public up to date on the cost of all needed repairs today.
Thank you, Carl Strow
