STOP PLAYING GAMES AND TELL THE TRUTH!
Here are my comments for the City Council Tuesday:
Good afternoon,
Please tell us the cost of the needed repairs on the section of the Barr Trail that we acquired in the land swap.
Last year Kurt Schroeder of our Parks Dept. told me that $211,000 had already been spent on those repairs. Rocky Mountain Field Institute has been doing that work, and they are being paid by the City of Manitou Springs. Has this Council asked RMFI, or the City of Manitou Springs how much more work the trail still needs? If so, please tell us the dollar amount. If not, please tell us why you have not done so.
I am alleging that the City is refusing to answer my question because that information will prove that the appraisal submitted by the Broadmoor is invalid.
I began asking this question during the public comment process for the land swap. Did the City learn that the appraisal submitted by the Broadmoor was flawed before this Council approved the land swap? That possibility should upset the members of this Council. Has any one of you looked into this, and if not, please tell us why not. I find it nearly impossible to believe that not one of you knows the answer to my question.
If the appraisal in question is OK, simply tell us how much more money needs to be spent on the trail, and discredit my claim. Why does the City allow me to continue to make such accusations, and not clear your own name?
I feel that you are attempting to discredit my work by your perpetual silence, as if my claims are not worth responding to. Why would you disrespect me that way? If I am mistaken, I would like to know.
Two weeks ago I spoke here about the shocking appearance of the streets in Old North End which now have bike lanes. While I was speaking several Council members and City Officials were talking and laughing. The fact that so many of you were doing that implies a conspiracy. Are you all not aware of how bad those streets really look? Were you implying that my claims were false? My claims were 100% accurate, did you intentionally defame my character?
I will again assert that the appearance of those streets could not be a mistake. Has the City investigated the conduct of the crew who did the work?
The City now owes the residents of Old North End an apology. The Mayor said all along that if there was enough opposition to the bike lanes, he would reverse the changes, and today great opposition still exists.
