Hello,
The Broadmoor Hotel misrepresented the value of the land that the City acquired from the Cog Railway in the land swap. That deal was carried out using an appraisal that is completely invalid.
The City is the people, and City Officials are compelled to represent the interests of the citizens of this city. Mistake or not, the Broadmoor Hotel defrauded the people of our city. The land we acquired from the Cog Railway was not worth nearly as much as we were led to believe.
These facts are intellectual property. They are in emails, they have been spoken in Council Chambers, they are on Facebook, and on Change.org. These facts are proof of a legal issue with great financial ramifications. The City has erred in agreeing to ignore these facts.
Source have told me that Mr. Damioli of the Broadmoor has become aware of the mistake, and is willing to reverse the land swap. The problem I am told is the unwillingness to do the right thing by Mayor Suthers, City Attorney Massey, and City Council President Skorman.
Sources also tell me that the District Attorney or the Feds have put together a list of ways that the land swap is harmful.
How can City Officials ignore these matters?
Is the Mayor exerting an undue influence on the City Attorney, her office or the City Council? Whose interests is the Mayor serving?
The land swap circumvented the democratic process by ignoring my concerns about the repairs needed on the Barr Trail. The City adjusted their presentations to avoid discussing these problems. The City is failing to disclose pertinent facts about its projects to the public more and more.
The City must disclose publicly what the estimated cost of the needed repairs is on the section of the Barr Trail that we acquired in the land swap.
Thank you, Carl Strow
