Force Auto Manufacturers to Offer Spare Tire And Jack Options With Every Car Sold!

The Issue

Who’s  Impacted – Many people who purchase a new car today and later realize there is no spare tire. Some consumers want one and dealers and automakers often do not offer the "Spare Tire & Jack" as an option in many cases. This is very common. This even flows down into the used car market and has been a developing trend in the auto industry for years.

What’s At Stake – Your Time and Safety in terms of how you deal with a common roadside issue. 220 million flat tires per year according to bank rate - google it. In addition you are guaranteed to spend the cost of a good spare and jack in towning on your first event and I plan on keeping my car. So that cost of towing goes up each event the longer you own the car. I would rather pay for a jack and a spare. Forget about my time on the side of the road, a very deadly place to be. Less time there is more. I rather change tire and get out ASAP. Forget waiting for a tow.

Why Now? - Because automakers have cheaped out and stopped offering these as OEM equipped. That is not fair for the cost of cars today. I think they should be required to offer this, as an option is fine, to save base model prices. But many people would opt for this option including myself. And to make me find the correct parts to secure the tire properly is not acceptable. I risk injury if I don't do it right. In my case there is no factory option offered. You are on your own fending for self when paying $30K for a car that came with a spare just a few years ago standard.

The Real Problem - There are lives at stake. It is not impossible to think one could get stuck out of cell range, on a long road and be impacted walking back or whatever. It does not need to happen, just offer an option with every car sold in the USA for a spare tire and jack setup. It has been this way since the beginning of time in the auto industry. Most of the cars have the stuff already there for other countries or a few years ago models. This root issue is to save weight for fuel economy and lower cost - that simple. We want "Options" made available that a car can be equipped with what many see as necessary Safety Gear and which need to meet NHTSA regulations and other standards as well. Can't just throw a spare in the trunk, sorry.  This is one 2024 owners solution. Not Ideal in any way. "Come On Man"..........
