We ask you to sign this petition because NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) has decided to make Kaitlyn “Kate” Cassidy a part of their advocacy team.

Kate Cassidy is known publicly as the former girlfriend of the late Liam Payne, ex-member of One Direction. At the time of Liam’s passing, she was his partner yet her actions during and after their relationship raise serious concerns about her credibility as a mental health advocate.

Liam Payne suffered greatly with addiction and was freshly in recovery during his relationship with Kate. Despite this, Kate repeatedly posted photos and videos of herself drinking and partying in front of Liam, knowing the difficult path he was on. At a time when Liam wanted distance from social media to protect his mental health and sobriety, Kate pressured him into making TikToks with her for views, fully aware that it would expose him to hateful and harmful online comments. She never once publicly stood up for him, defended his struggles, or advocated for his mental well-being.

Furthermore, Kate was part of Liam’s care team. It was well known that Liam should not have been left alone. Yet Kate abandoned him in Argentina without informing anyone, leaving him vulnerable. Since then, she has shared multiple conflicting stories about why she left, raising further concerns about her integrity and accountability.

Following Liam’s tragic passing, Kate has not honored his legacy through meaningful advocacy or mental health work. Instead, she has repeatedly used his name for sponsorships, paid promotions, and views  profiting from his memory rather than protecting it.

NAMI represents one of the most trusted organizations for mental health advocacy. To allow Kate Cassidy to serve as a sponsor undermines the values of compassion, credibility, and responsibility that NAMI stands for. For the sake of those who look to NAMI for leadership and integrity, we respectfully ask you to reconsider this decision and remove Kate Cassidy from your sponsorship and advocacy team.
