Keep a local wall mural in Richmond

The Issue

Save the sheep !Helloooooo
I've got a big favour to ask of you regards my sheep mural on York house antiques.
The council want rid of it!
in the depressing time we are all going through, it's a cheerful image, a welcome site when entering the market place from that end of town. The owner of the shop Christine Swift commissioned local untrained hobby artist (known as wacky Jackie uk art on Facebook) said hundreds of people have been seen photographing the art work and reading the sign post directing people to visitor attractions, and have called in the shop to say how much they love the piece. The artist , Jackie Stubbs was the first landlady of the George and dragon pub in hudswell in 2010 when the locals bought it, Yorkshire's first community pub, but sadly Jackie had to retire from the trade when the disease that she suffers with- MS became debilitating.
Art became her crutch, providing a therapeutic outlet and a feel good factor as she was delighted to hear that other people loved it too. Jackie said on hearing the news that the council want it removed "I'm devastated, I was honoured and delighted when Christine asked me to do a mural. i thoroughly enjoyed doing the piece although it was hell of a challenge with my condition to get up to that height, but the amazing comments, people stopping me in the street to thank me for cheering up their day when ever they see it, has made me super proud. I'm perplexed re the person that has complained. When I painted the redundant bus stop - covering graffiti as part of the massive town tidy up for Richmond in bloom national competition the council didn't complain about that ! And the judges were impressed with it !
So I beg of you all please go to Richmondshire council planning site and keep wacky Jackie art on the wall, - please support !

raise a smile in times of woe,
we don't want the happy sheep & collie dog, to go
