Our world was turned upside down by the cruelest act. I took Luke to what I believed to be his follow up veterinarian appointment for his neutering. Little did we know that when I dropped him off at 8:45 am that would be the last time I would see Luke. Luke didn’t want me to leave and actually jumped back into my drivers seat and that is my last memory I have of Luke. I was told I would receive a phone call for pick up, however I never received that call. The drive to vet is about an hour drive one way and due to covid restrictions had to call to drop off and not allowed to wait in the office. I planned my day around this appointment in order to keep close by to the veterinarians office I did errands locally. I found out that Luke was was deceptively stolen from us while I was checking out at the post office. I broke down in tears while trying to pay for my postage and the clerk helped me to tape up my package to be shipped. This morning I relived this moment as I reread these text messages between Jerry and I and we were both rightfully distraught. I had to at one point pull over and collect myself emotionally on the drive home all the while Jerry was still at work, filing out a police report, and pleading with For the Love of a Paw at their “cat headquarters” to no avail to Return Luke Home. We both begged and pleaded through text messges, messenger messages, and emails for our dog to be returned with no response. This was a planned, cruel, manipulative, and deceptive act that has left Jerry and I both traumatized as well as devastated. We have always maintained we just want #returnLukehome and we are determined to share the truth of these events with the public.
