Late yesterday the FFA put out a press release, 'FFA clarifies banning process'. This totally conflicts with a FFA banning notice doing the circles of Social Media which states, "Dear Mr XXXX Please be advised that Football Federation Australia is not a government agency and as such the obligation to adherer to the rules of procedural fairness and natural justice does not apply to our organisation. For this reason, FFA will not consider any appeal. FFA has adopted a zero policy to disruptive behaviour at its sanctioned events and will not tolerate behaviour that has the potential to threaten the safety of security of spectators, players and officials. We make no apologises for taking a tough stance on persons who engage in disruptive behaviour at our sanctioned matches. Through the conduct of an investigation FFA has determined that your behaviour was a clear breach of the Terms of Admission and Spectator Code of Behaviour at the event described. Accordingly, FFA maintains that the ban issued to you is appropriate in the circumstances and reflects your disorderly behaviour at the stated event. We now consider this matter resolved and do not intend to enter into any further correspondence with you in this regard. Kind Regards Football Federation Australia -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, something here does not compute. The attached FFA statement released is in direct emulation with the example banning notice above, which was sent to one of these banned fans. I urge you all to keep fighting this fight to ensure a fair and just appeals process is put into place where procedural fairness is paramount and transparent at every step. A process where the perpetrator is treated as innocent until proven guilty beyond doubt of all alleged charges, before a banning notice can be handed out. A proper appeals process where the alleged offender/s is considered innocent until proven guilty. An appeal system in place for the alleged perpetrator to question this decision with supporting evidence if need be. A transparent, accountable and measurable process for fairness for all involved. Thanks once again fellow Football fans, We only want to see our game grow and this will only be a stepping stone to further greatness for our sport to grow as it has around the world. If you have signed this petition, The Football Tragics of Australia thank you. If not please feel free to sign it and pass it on to every email contact, family member and friend who loves football, as well as all of your Social Media platforms to garner further support. So we can enjoy our game and not have to be worried about procedural fairness, which is a basic human right in everything we do each and every day in this beautiful country. Kind Regards Mick Scarcella
