Sign Ched Evans and Allow Him to Return to Football
Sign Ched Evans and Allow Him to Return to Football
The Issue
If you don’t condone crime, but believe that Ched Evans should return to football, this petition is for you.
It is clear that petitions from Jean Hatchet have helped sway the decisions of football club bosses to not sign Evans. However, there is a large body of people who believe that Evans should be able to return to work. This petition acts as a platform for people, who support Evans in his return to football, to voice their support.
It is important to note that this petition does not condone rape. It is not ok to have sex with someone who does not consent or is unable to consent. Rape is a serious crime and those who commit rape should be convicted under the law of the land.
Evans was convicted of rape and has rightly served the legal requirements of his sentence. There are no legal restrictions that prevent Evans from playing professional football. Those who do not agree with the length of Evans' sentence or the lack of employment restriction upon his release, should campaign to change the sentencing regime. They should not campaign to prevent a single person (Evans) from rehabilitation.
If you believe in redemption, if you believe in rehabilitation and if you believe that Ched Evans should be given the opportunity to return to football, please sign this petition.
Let's show the football club bosses that there is a large body of people (possibly greater than those who are anti-Ched Evans) who are in favour of Evans’ return to football.
