Focus on Education: Keep The Momentum Going!

Grateful and proud is an understatement! We are now at 855 signatures and still going! Can you help us get to 1,000 signatures by tomorrow? Keep sharing, posting on social media, sending to friends and loved ones. This is about holding our elected officials accountable, ensuring our tax dollars are being used for the benefit of our childrens' education and for the betterment of this amazing community and not for divisiveness and distraction.

A few notes from questions received over the past week: 

• Some of you may have been traveling out of state over the holiday break, and your signature may have generated a zip code outside of Michigan. Please go back and double check that your signature generates a zip code HERE in our LOCAL COMMUNITY so that we can show the AAPS BOE that the LOCAL COMMUNITY supports this petition! We are not just interested in numbers, we are interested in authentic numbers from consitituents and community members with an authentic nexus to the AAPS community. 
• Some have asked whether AAPS students or former students can sign. Yes! Of course! The Board's actions affect them the most. But, be reasonable, only have students who are old enough to understand what they are signing sign. 
• Some have asked if people who do not reside in Ann Arbor can sign. Also, yes, but use reasonable judgment, make sure the signer is a "constituent" or "community" member with some sort of plausible "nexus" to Ann Arbor Public Schools. Do they have a vested interest in the outcome of what the AAPS School Board does? Teachers, students, grandparents of students, anyone who lives in Ann Arbor or neighboring districts, are likely to be directly impacted by the Board's actions. It is not a science, but we want authentic signatures from actual constituents! 
• A great way to help generate more signatures is to add videos to the petition. We only have one so far, feel free to add more! We'd love to hear from more voices. The comments you have added are great, let's see your faces and hear your voices!
