We have already passed 2,000 supporters and are going strong but I am also feeling the need to offer some words of encouragement to keep the campaign going even stronger. Remember that the only things this church is really concerned with is how many bodies show up on Saturday and Sunday and how much money gets donated every week. If those numbers do not decline, the church will not change their ways. They have survived more than one scandal and I'm sure they figure they can ride this fight out as well and continue with business as usual. That is why these petitions are being sent to the church's main e-mail address, not to any one of the pastors - the objective is to get people who attend the church or who may be thinking of attending to see what is happening, even if their response is to defend the church's actions. Our real goal is to have hundreds of thousands of people talking about what this church and others like it are really doing because there is something in most people, Christian or not, that tells them that what this church is doing is not right. That is the only strategy that will affect any real change. We have already had more than one person who attended Flatirons say they will not be returning but these pastors are accustomed to lots of turnover. If the numbers of supporters of this petition keep increasing, more and more people will become aware of the real issues and the church's attendance cannot help but be affected. At the same time, we are also continuing to pursue our legal options but I cannot comment on those as yet. What I can say is that we anticipate being able to tie up their office development for at least several months, if not longer, and the more time we have to gather supporters, the more likely it is that this campaign will result in some real change.
