It has been 9 years and the Highway department has made no changes to Fairview Avenue.  The amount of traffic has increased drastically in 9 years especially during peak times.  The city owns Keriakes park and the land directly across the street near Hampton avenue.  There is over 200 ft on both sides that could be donated to the state to put in dedicated turn lanes.  I am confident the city leadership along with the state leadership can work out a deal to make this intersection safer.  Turning left into Keriakes park from Fairview Avenue is dangerous especially during heavy traffic hours. Also turning left on to Hampton from Fairview is equally dangerous. The fact that there is no turn lane and no dedicated turn signal makes these turns difficult and often times very dangerous. Keriakes park is very busy especially in the spring with the start of nice weather and baseball practice. Families are trying to get into the park but are often stuck on Fairview for several minutes trying to make the turn into the park. Equally difficult is trying to turn onto Hampton and when there are cars trying to make turns on both sides visibility is difficult and traffic gets backed up. A dedicated turn lane or at least a dedicated turn light would help to relieve the traffic and the danger of people attempting to dart across traffic to make the turn.
