As a member of the Thamesmead community, the current school holiday structure and bus services are deeply affecting me and many others in our community. Waiting until the 23rd of July for the summer holidays to start shortens the time we have available for holiday trips, causing a lot of frustration. I believe that we can achieve a more beneficial and enjoyable timeframe by reducing some unnecessary half-term holidays, giving us a chance to enjoy a longer summer break.

After all, summer holidays are not just leisure time; they provide vital benefits to student well-being. Research from the American Sociological Association shows that holidays are crucial for the mental health of students. They enable rest, relaxation, and give an opportunity for quality family time, which has a positive impact on academic performance and overall well-being.

In addition to the educational standpoint, local transport services have been posing a significant challenge. We are calling for the reimplementation of bus route 'B11' to Thamesmead. The B11 service, which commenced in 1988, is currently using outdated Enviro 200 buses. It's time we see an upgrade to new Enviro 200MMCs for both 'B11' and the '244' route. 

Moreover, the community would greatly benefit from introducing the modern Enviro 400MMC or 'Enviro E400 City' buses on the '401' route. Improved transport services are not luxury but absolute essentials in ensuring mobility and accessibility for Thamesmead residents.
