I wanted to share an important update on my own ODSP application, and on the broader concerns that led me to start this petition.

After contacting my local MPP, Alexa Gilmour, their office reached out to the Ministry on my behalf. Shortly afterward, I was informed that my application had been expedited, and I am now expecting a decision shortly.

I’m grateful for their assistance and appreciate their office taking my concerns seriously.

However, this also raises an important question:

If an application can move faster once outside pressure is applied, what happens to everyone still waiting without that support or knowledge of how to escalate?

I also spoke with the Ontario Ombudsman regarding these concerns.

During that conversation, I was advised that:

- Their office is aware of broader delays affecting ODSP applications
- They are in contact with senior Ministry staff regarding these issues
- The 90 business day timeline is intended to be a maximum, not the standard expectation

That means the delays many applicants are experiencing are real, known, and already being monitored.

My concern has never only been about my own case.

It is about fairness, transparency, and making sure people applying for disability support are not left in limbo for months while trying to survive.

I am continuing this petition to:

- push for clearer timelines
- improve communication with applicants
- address backlog delays
- ensure equal treatment whether or not someone has political advocacy

If you or someone you know has applied for ODSP, please continue sharing your experience in the comments.

Your stories matter, and they help show this is bigger than one application.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this effort so far.
