Two Months After Launch: Why the Conversation About ODSP and Ontario Works Must Continue
Today marks nearly two months since I launched this petition on April 16, 2026.
First, I want to thank everyone who has signed, shared, and supported this effort. Every signature represents a real person who believes Ontario can do better for people living with disabilities and those who rely on social assistance programs.
Since my last update on May 13, I have continued working on my own ODSP Internal Review while also speaking with others who have shared their experiences navigating the system. A common theme continues to emerge: lengthy wait times, financial hardship while decisions are pending, and support rates that many feel do not reflect the realities of living in Ontario today.
Over the past month, I have also been researching Ontario Works and ODSP funding levels, gathering information, reviewing policy changes, and preparing future advocacy and media outreach efforts to help bring greater public attention to these issues.
This petition was never intended to be about just one person or one application. It is about the thousands of Ontarians who are struggling to access support, maintain housing, afford food, and navigate complex systems while dealing with disabilities, illness, or other significant challenges.
The work is continuing. The conversations are continuing. And I remain committed to ensuring that these voices are heard.
