Fix ODSP Application Delays in Ontario – No One Should Wait Months Just to Be Reviewed

The Issue

I am an Ontario resident currently applying for the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), and I was recently informed that my application may take up to 80 business days just to be assigned to a worker. This does not include the time required for a decision.

This means applicants may wait several months before their file is even reviewed — despite applying for a program designed to support individuals in urgent need.

Through this petition, I am not only calling for change, but also gathering information from others who are experiencing similar delays.

If you have applied for ODSP, I encourage you to sign and share your experience, including:
- When you applied
- How long it took to receive your Disability Determination Package (DDP)
- How long you have been waiting for assignment or a decision
- Any financial or personal impact caused by delays

The goal is to document the scope of this issue and present real data to elected officials, oversight bodies, and the media.

We are calling on the Government of Ontario and the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services to:

- Address the backlog of ODSP applications
- Reduce processing and assignment wait times
- Increase staffing or resources where needed
- Improve transparency around timelines and delays

No one applying for disability support should be left waiting months without answers or support.

This petition will be shared with Members of Provincial Parliament, the Ontario Ombudsman, and media organizations to help drive accountability and change.

Please include your timeline in the comments (application date, DDP date, current status).
