My fellow supporters,

June 2026 has been an extremely difficult month for our petition, and we've suffered a severe setback in our petition's momentum throughout the month.

Despite June containing the longest day for many regions across the northern hemisphere, and midnight sun in regions such as Norway and Sweden, June (overall) has been the darkest month for our campaign. Although I am the one running it, I am using terms such as "our" and "we" because I am communicating to all my supporters.

Throughout March, April and surprisingly May, we gained roughly 100 to 110 signatures per month with a very strong uptick in signatures, we only gained fewer than 40 signatures in February because the petition was launched on the 27th, two days before March 1st.

We amassed over 10 signatures in the first four days of this month, climbing from roughly 370 to surpassing my goal of 379 signatures on June 3rd and the start of the month showed the same upward trajectory as the start of March, April and May, although I had set the summer solstice (21st June) as the deadline to reach 400 signatures, based on earlier growth had expected to reach that milestone much earlier on June 9th (exactly a month after hitting 300) and to have roughly 450 by today (June 30th).

Over the weekend on 13th-14th June, the petition's signature count got stubbornly stuck on 396 signatures and by June 16th, I was forced to break my silence and announce that the petition got stuck on 398 signatures (2 short of my old goal). We had a small uptick in signatures after crossing the 400 mark on June 18th but have been frozen on 409 signatures since June 24th (six days ago), meaning that to date (30th June), we have only amassed exactly 30 new signatures since my 379 signatures announcement on June 3rd.

We are still currently stuck at 409 signatures and have had none whatsoever in nearly a week, meaning that this petition really has lost the momentum it once had during the first few months of the campaign, and I cannot reach my next milestone of 485 without any help from my existing supporters who have subscribed to receiving my email updates.  

Due to the severe slowdown in the petition's growth this last month, I have reassessed my goal and hope to hit 1,000 signatures by February 27th (this campaign's birthday) instead of January 8th as originally planned.

As this is a reflection of our growth in June, like with my unplanned "emergency updates", I do not use my dedicated Word document for the campaign (which I use for celebratory milestones), instead I am using change.org's "post update" tool directly for this one and mu unplanned "emergency updates".

Although this petition is about the date of Easter, it was never designed to only collect and amass new signatures in March or April, this is a year-round affair and without this petition, living generations of Western Christians (post 2008) will NEVER see Easter occur earlier than the too-late-to-be-early date of March 25th!

Without this petition, for UK Orthodox Christians, a severe cluster of "disaster years" (2035, 2046, 2051) will remain difficult without an aggressive push for UK bank holiday reform and the presence of a Greek Orthodox church in my local area directly disproves the idea that Orthodox Christians are a faraway concept and whose traditions are routinely being ignored by the government every year.

Let's hope for a better and brighter July, and more momentum throughout the month!
