LA County people: Hertzberg drafted SB539 (September 2021) to plug the holes in Proposition 19 (effective February 2021) and was not in support of SB668 which would have delayed Proposition 19 for 2 years. Now he is blaming Jeff Prang's office for not being able to implement something that had holes and should have been Unconstitutional. Can we get people there to protest? If there is media coverage maybe we can get our cause out? From Scott at HJTA:
This popped up in my inbox today. Hertzberg is trying to put the blame on the L.A. assessor's office for how bad Prop. 19 is (Hertzberg voted for it, he is on the committee that allowed SB 668 to die without a vote and has generally been an impediment to our efforts on this). I think he needs to be called out on it. I'm wondering if we can get some people out there to counterprotest him (so to speak). Media will likely be there so we might be able to get some press coverage for our effort and maybe even a few signatures from these "taxpayers" he is bringing.
We are sending an email to folks in the area and putting out a press release of our own, but I thought I would send you an alert asap.
