As of this past Monday, July 17th, the Town Council approved a resolution removing the i69 overlay from the property at 136th & Brooks School Rd. This overlay prevented non-profits from using that particular piece of land. Now that the overlay has been removed, iTown is able to proceed with their plan to build on that property. Given the opportunity to proceed at 136th and Brooks School Rd. iTown has officially withdrawn their application to rezone the Gray Eagle Golf Course. Additionally, the Council will be adopting a resolution that the planning committee's favorable recommendation to rezone Gray Eagle is no longer valid. I want to take the opportunity to thank everyone that has been involved in this massive effort. Just shy of 1,600 online signatures, 100s of paper signatures, 100s of emails, conversations, and time. This could not have happened without all of you working together. I cannot say thank you enough for your efforts. I couldn't finish without a "what's next?" If the golf course was willing to sell to iTown, it's likely that they will try to sell again. As a community amenity, we need to not just enjoy the view of the golf course, we need to get out there and use it. In addition, I'll continue to work with leaders of HOAs and the golf course to determine what a long term solution looks like to keep it around for many years to come. if you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please feel free to reach out to me on the following channels: Twitter: @RandyForbes Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Randall.S.Forbes Email: randy.forbes@gmail.com
