iTown Proposal and Reduction of Green Space
*****************Body*****************
Dear Council Members, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Director of Planning,
I do not support the planned proposal for iTown to convert the existing green space at the crossroads of 126th St. and Brooks School Road from a max of 35% impermeable surface to max 75% impermeable surface. Even though the Fishers 2040 plan may not have intentionally indicated that this should remain as green space, it is marked as such. As a resident of Fishers, I am asking that you keep the green space as was originally included in the Fishers 2040 plan.
I also do not support the added traffic to this area, even if it should primarily be on the weekends. There is not an impact fee that can be added to account for the impact of traffic and loss of green space that will result from the new facility and accompanying parking lot. As Fishers continues to grow, we need to be cautious about how we move forward and ensure that all residents opinions are considered and not just those that will use the proposed facility.
I would like you to please deny and/or delay iTown's request until the city has had the appropriate impact studies on roads, traffic, and potential devaluation of housing in this area. If in fact the Gray Eagle golf course is unable to support the existing green space I would like you to consider alternate uses of to keep it is currently zoned and planned today.
Sincerely,
