Local spoken word poetry organization, The 2 Cent Movement, has harbored a predator for many years and they have neglected to act on NUMEROUS allegations of sexual misconduct against one of the main faces of the organization, Idrees Saleem.
They have had this information for over four years and they have not chosen not to do anything about it. They even threatened past associates with lawsuits because they feared losing their funding from Republic Bank, First Citizens, the British High Commission, the US Embassy and their partnership with Bocas Lit Fest. 
Idrees has worked closely with children under the age of 18 at quite a number of schools nationwide. This man is a threat to their safety. This organization is a threat the the safety of young, vulnerable poets and therefore they must lose all local support. 
This is a call to all poets and creatives nationwide to boycott this enabling organization and to their sponsors to disassociate themselves from such a careless, distrustful and despicable organization. Their days have ended.
