Fire YouTube CEO Neal Mohan - Make YouTube Great Again.

The Issue

Dear those who have shown up as your signature,

This petition concerns possibilities of a threat that is evolving into an ongoing crisis

A few months ago, YouTube announced that a policy would be requiring age verification through IDs and facial scan, drastically affecting both content creators and viewers alike. This change not only invades personal privacy but also hinders the user experience. Additionally, in November 2025, YouTube's AI mistakenly terminated thousands of channels, including some high-quality, fan-favorite creators such as Enderman and 4096. This issue directly impacts me and many others who rely on YouTube for creativity, expression, and even income. Both these have caused major protests occurring in both YouTube (with channels going dark and privatizing their videos) and from YouTube's headquarters in San Bruno and Google in Mountain View.

For those of you who don't know, YouTube is a two-sided online platform for sharing your voice and it is for people with creativity, streaming and Curiosity too and is owned by Alphabet, Inc. and was founded by three people. Not one. They are Jawed Karim, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen. it started out after Google introduced a platform named “Google Video” in 2003 and tested it for three years, but turned into an independent Google company named “YouTube” after two years. It is two-sided because why? One side is creators and other is viewers. It is also a hybrid platform which is shorts like social media with comments, shares and likes and also for creating your own works as videos to make viewers proud.

One of the most concerning aspects is the way YouTube's automated systems are handled. Their AI was held accountable by a YouTuber named "Deep Humor" for handling channel appeals, without any human interaction, as exemplified by Enderman’s channel—which was terminated and then automatically denied appeal. Their automated process linked him to an unrelated account that originated from Japan. This channel was eventually restrained by humans two days after the platform’s AI denied their appeal. but not just that. YouTube argues that it "prioritizes human oversight", but, this is a lie. YouTube knows EXACTLY what it's doing, but this scenario and countless others indicate otherwise, showing a troubling shift towards automation at the expense of quality and accuracy. What a lot of people don’t know is that AI moderation is often considered lazy and fraudulent over actual human labor. Not only that, but what do you think about traffic lights replacing cops? What about washing machines replacing manual labor? What about Waymo robotaxis that are now taking over existing car brands including people switching out of Uber and Lyft?

we cannot let this evolve into YouTube own suicide from originally doing its own efforts to preserve its YouTube channels.

According to multiple users on Facebook and Reddit, these changes were not used for efficiency. Their AI models were trained on people who do not know how to moderate platforms.

Furthermore, the introduction of Generative AI (commonly known as "GenAI") on this platform dilutes genuine human creativity and insights, replacing them with generic, algorithmically-generated content, which likely points to the fact that the Dead Internet Theory (DIT) has slowly become reality. This not only dehumanizes the platform but has contributed to the reduced quality of content, known as "AI Slop". For creators like me, who strive to connect authentically with our audience, this technological imposition is detrimental. YouTube used to be about "Broadcasting Yourself" under Chad's leadership but that all changed when it became a monopoly all around the world, with Google's acquirance and the removing of dislike numbers and the shift to prioritize creation over sharing moments. This is concerning, as many platforms are reporting the increase in bot activity, AI traffic and fake view numbers, causing a large and widespread decrease in the internet's population.

Who is to blame? Neal Mohan, as CEO, is accountable for these decisions and the direction in which YouTube has currently headed to. With these changes, YouTube risks losing the trust and participation of its community—an invaluable component of its platform. We must reevaluate leadership priorities to maintain and restore YouTube's essence as a platform for genuine, human-driven content.

By adding your signature, you are also joining me in urging Google and it's CEO (Sundar Pichai) and YouTube itself to fire YouTube's CEO Neal Mohan to evaluate the course they are responsible for setting for this cherished platform and to consider appointing leadership that values transparency, community involvement, and balance between technology and human touch. Stand with us in advocating for a YouTube that respects creators and users alike—one driven by thoughtful policies that prioritize human oversight and creativity. Sign the petition to encourage meaningful change. Let's revert to the prioritization of humanization and encontentification over over-reliance on automation and bots. I would like to thank you for your cooperation, signature and compliance on this petition.

Sincerely,
