As a former West Limestone football player, I take immense pride in our team. Seeing it suffer under the leadership of a coach who lacks both the necessary knowledge and the capacity to guide players effectively is disheartening. Our community deserves better, and so do the dedicated young athletes who invest their time and energy into this sport. 

Coach Shelby Davis has consistently failed to deliver on promises made to both players and parents. His approach to coaching often leaves the team feeling misguided and undervalued. A cohesive strategy and genuine expertise are essential components for any football team's success, yet these elements seem glaringly absent from Coach Davis's leadership.

Statistics from the past few seasons illustrate a decline in both team morale and performance. Under Coach Davis’s tenure, the team’s win-loss record has significantly worsened, raising concerns among many community members. Moreover, there have been multiple reports from players suggesting that practices lack fundamental training techniques crucial for player development and safety.

The well-being and growth of our student-athletes should be the priority. Allowing them to experience the life lessons that sports can teach requires a coach who inspires, instructs, and leads by example. We call upon the West Limestone High School administration to take immediate action and replace Coach Davis.

Let's ensure that the pride and legacy of the West Limestone football team is restored by appointing a coach who is qualified and committed to the real development of our young athletes.
