As an ardent follower of the NFL, I cannot sit silent when the integrity of the game is compromised. Carl Cheffers, a current NFL official, recently demonstrated a clear disregard for the rules and the essence of fair play. In the recent Buffalo Bills vs. Denver Broncos game, he failed to stop and double-check a play that was critical to the outcome, a clear catch from Brandin Cooks which was “conveniently” turned over in favor of the Broncos when the ball was stolen from Cooks even though he was already down by contact. Head Coach Sean McDermott is not happy with this play-calling, as is many Buffalo Bills players and fans across the nation. 

This isn't merely an isolated incident. Fans and analysts alike have noticed a pattern in Cheffers' officiating style that suggests favoritism, an unacceptable trait for someone in his position. The role of an NFL official is paramount; it's about ensuring the game is played fairly and adhering strictly to the established rules. An official should be a figure of impartiality and integrity, values that seem to be lacking with Cheffers and his crew. There have been petitions to remove Cheffers in the past. Something needs to be done here and I refuse to stay silent over something like this. Justice needs to be served. 

The credibility of the NFL is at stake when officials do not uphold these principles. Every game, every play, every decision must be rooted in fairness to maintain the respect and love we all have for this sport. Fans pay to see their favorite teams perform without fearing biased referee decisions infecting the purity of the game.
