We, the undersigned residents, neighbors, and daily players in the area of Shenandoah/Coral Way of Bryan Park, are writing to request that the city complete the final stages of Court 5 and transition the space into a balanced, shared-use asset that serves both tennis and pickleball players.

Currently, the brand-new Court 5 is nearly finished. However, the city has restricted the space exclusively for wall and drill practices. While we completely agree that players must retain access to a practice wall, locking out the pickleball community entirely from a nearly completed, taxpayer-funded court is an inefficient use of public park space.

An exclusive lockdown is unnecessary when a balanced compromise is sitting right on the table.

Rather than favoring one sport over the other or leaving the court project incomplete, the tennis and pickleball communities have come together on a unified solution. We respectfully request that the City of Miami Parks and Recreation Department implement a shared-use schedule. This proposed framework honors the park’s existing baseline sports days while splitting the weekend to reflect actual morning player demand—where pickleball players outnumber tennis wall users by at least a 4-to-2 ratio.

By signing this petition, we request that the city install permanent, official signage detailing these shared hours on the fence so that both communities can utilize this space safely and harmoniously.
