Finalize the Development of the Maharana Pratap National Monument in Haldighati

Finalize the Development of the Maharana Pratap National Monument in Haldighati
The Issue
I am an individual deeply troubled by the negligence shown towards our historical heritage, specifically the world-renowned battle ground of Mewar, Haldighati. This is the site where the historic battle between Maharana Pratap of Mewar and Akbar's army, led by Raja Man Singh of Jaipur, took place on 18th June 1576. It holds great historical and national significance.
In 1997, the Government of India began development on the Maharana Pratap National Monument in Haldighati, inaugurated in earnest in 2009 with pending of national notification, as a way to memorialize the sacrifices made here. However, it's now 2024 and the condition remains unchanged, clearly indicating the government's negligence. It is as if corruption has been openly practiced under the revered name of Pratap. This careless abandonment of one of our country's most significant historical sites has led to an alarming twist of historical facts, which jeopardizes the accurate understanding of our past, particularly for the new generation.
The Haldighati battle ground, originally known as Rakt Talai in Khamnor village, is an icon of our rich past. Yet it seems to be overlooked by the local administration, including the Prime Minister's Office and the Chief Minister's Office of Rajasthan, perhaps under the influence of private interests. Such blatant disregard is endangering our precious historical heritage.
Our heritage and history deserve more than this. They need to be personified in the heart of every single individual who holds a sense of national pride. It's time that the government align its actions with its responsibilities and immediately finalize the development of the Maharana Pratap National Monument in Haldighati. We deserve better. Our history deserves better. Please join me in ensuring our past is preserved for our future. Sign the petition now.
