File charges in Arizona against Tim and Tracy Ferriter for Child Abuse

File charges in Arizona against Tim and Tracy Ferriter for Child Abuse
The Issue
As many people who have followed the case against Tim Ferriter in Florida know, he was sentenced for Aggravated Child Abuse, Child Neglect, and False Imprisonment for locking his adopted son in an 8’ by 8’ structure in the garage for as many as 18 hours a day. This room consisted of the following: a mattress on the floor, a bucket for use as a toilet, a small desk, an air conditioner (which the teen was not allowed to set to his liking), a light controlled from outside the room (which was kept off the vast majority of the time the teen was in the room), and a ring camera so that Tim and Tracy can see, at all times, exactly what the teen is doing in that room. At trial, hours of footage from that ring camera showed not only the teen going insane from being locked inside that room, but also the relatively severe punishments Tim imposed upon the teen for relatively minor acts of misbehavior.
When the teen testified during the trial, he explicitly said he was subject to similar treatment while the family resided in Pima County, Arizona.
For this abuse, Tim Ferriter was sentenced to only 5 years incarceration followed by 5 years probation, which is less than the recommended minimum for his crimes.
I am calling upon similar charges to be filed upon Tim and Tracy in Arizona for the following reasons:
- The sentence imposed upon Tim in Florida is too lenient for the abuse the teen was subject to. If he is convicted of similar charges in Arizona, that will add to his total sentence.
- Tim, in my view, was only punished for his actions while living in Florida; his actions in Arizona went unpunished to this day. The teen, in my view, can only receive justice if Tim is punished for every second he subjected the teen to the abuse, in ALL jurisdictions the abuse occurred in.
Please join me in encouraging the Pima County Attorney to file charges against Tim and Tracy Ferriter for their actions against their adopted son while the family lived in Pima County, Arizona.
