File a new federal bill regarding strays
The Issue
When I look in the eyes of the strays both on the streets and in the pounds, it is heartbreaking. They are begging for help. These innocent creatures deserve better than the life of uncertainty, hunger, and fear that they currently endure. It is time for us as a society to take responsibility and provide them with the care and protection they need.
Every year, millions of stray animals roam the streets, facing the threat of starvation, disease, and abuse. It's reported that in the United States alone, approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year, with around 1.5 million being euthanized because there's simply not enough space or resources to care for them.
The current system is overwhelmed, underfunded, and inadequate. While there are numerous dedicated shelters and rescue operations tirelessly working to alleviate this crisis, they cannot manage this situation alone.
The time has come for federal action. We need a comprehensive federal bill that addresses the plight of stray animals.
🏛️ THE FEDERAL SOLUTION
We are taking a self-sustaining infrastructure blueprint straight to Congress: The National Humane Shelter Infrastructure and Sanctuary Act.
💨 MANDATE FRESH AIRFLOW: Legally require hospital-grade ventilation and carbon filtration to instantly wipe out putrid odors that torture animals.
🚫 BAN CAGE CONFINEMENT: Amend the Animal Welfare Act to legally outlaw individual cage warehousing in taxpayer-funded facilities.
📍 AREA-SPECIFIC SANCTUARIES: Construct localized, low-stress, free-roaming sanctuary properties distributed by regional population needs.
🏢 LIQUIDATE OUTDATED POUNDS: Sell off high-value, inner-city pound real estate and pool 100% of the equity to build modern, open-air facilities.
🔬 CRACK DOWN ON PET FOOD FRAUD: Force aggressive FDA testing on corporate pet food to ban toxic, nutritionally dead fillers and criminalize false marketing.
🚔 ENFORCE ACTIVE FIELD PICKUPS: Enforce national staffing minimums and hold negligent cities accountable with severe funding cuts and up to $10,000 in civil lawsuits
