⏳ A QUICK UPDATE⌛

Prior local Council Election 2025, I reached out to all running candidates.
Some signed the petition and also replied with very insightful information.
Those candidates now have a seat in council 🙏👍

I have been taking careful steps to this approach.

1. Letter to the Mayor
2. Letter to EPA and also informing them that a letter was sent to the council.
3. Sent official letter to DWER along with evidence of complaints, a copy of the letter sent to the council, a copy of council's reply, and a copy of the letter that was sent to EPA.
4. I have been reporting  over a month through the WA Government "Report an Odour" link. Reported on every occurrence.

The is getting worse by the week.

More residents are noticing.

Residents are becoming quite nauseous.

This calls for urgent action.

Thank you again for the support. 🙏

Kalgoorlie-Boulder is a cornerstone of Western Australia's Goldfields, renowned for its rich history and contribution to our state's economy and tourism. However, the wastewater system is overburdened. This infrastructure not only threatens our environment but is also putting public health at risk. According to recent studies, poor wastewater management can lead to the spread of waterborne diseases and exacerbate respiratory and sinus problems due to pathogens and improper waste disposal.

We must act now to protect the health of our community and safeguard our local environment. With improved infrastructure, we can reduce health risks, improve the quality of life for all residents, and ensure that Kalgoorlie-Boulder remains a safe and attractive destination for visitors.

By signing this petition, you are standing with the residents of Kalgoorlie-Boulder in pushing for necessary improvements to our wastewater infrastructure.

I am advocating the urgency of a relocation as there was a sewerage spill recently.

Original post below.

The recent sewerage spill in Kalgoorlie-Boulder, WA, has exposed an urgent need for action regarding our local water waste treatment facility. This incident was not just an inconvenience; it posed a serious threat to the health and welfare of our community and the countless visitors who frequent our town. It's time for our Local Council to take immediate and decisive steps to address this pressing issue.

Kalgoorlie-Boulder has experienced a significant population growth in recent years, amplifying the demand on our existing infrastructure. The current location and capacity of our wastewater treatment facility are no longer sufficient to meet the town's needs. The unfortunate sewerage spill highlighted the risks of exposure to untreated waste can lead to severe health problems, environmental damage, and can adversely impact the reputation of our vibrant community.

The relocation of the water treatment plant to a more suitable location, paired with an upgrade in capacity and technology, is a necessary path forward. Improving this critical infrastructure would ensure the safety and well-being of our residents and bolster our appeal as a tourist destination. Kalgoorlie's rich history and booming tourism sector depend upon the preservation of our environment and the safety of our visitors and citizens alike.

We urge the Local Council to prioritize this project, seeking expert consultations, securing necessary funding, and involving community stakeholders in the planning process. Investing in robust infrastructure today will yield significant long-term benefits for Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

Please join us in calling for the prompt relocation and upgrading of our wastewater treatment plant to safeguard our community's future. Sign this petition to voice your support for a safer, healthier Kalgoorlie-Boulder.
