I don't claim to speak for every American, but if by chance after reading this petition you agree please sign and share. Before I became a REALTOR, before inflation became an issue, even before the Pandemic I feel we have been dealing with this ongoing ever advancing PROBLEM.  I do not see anyone helping or enforcing real change.  Rental companies, landlords, property management and the like are fleecing our pockets without ceasing!

1. Why are families being asked to make income 2-4 times the monthly rent? No one ever gives them that much.
2. Why is there a Move-In fee outside of the Deposit?  Which Leasing Agent or Maintenance Personnel are going to unload the truck? 
3. Why are Admin fees $200-$300?  Are the commissions not sufficient to pay their wages?
4. Why is one family asked to pay a NON-Refundable Pet Fee between $200-$500 per Cat? No offense dog owners, but cats do NOT regularly toilet outside of a litter box, chew doors and baseboards or scratch up drywall!
5. If applications are processed on a First Come First Serve basis to be decided upon qualifications, why continue to take new applications, charging NON Refundable app fees $75+ per family member over 18? Only one family can get the home or unit. Even if it takes 2-4 weeks (And it should not.) why not refund the families that don't luck out?
6. Whose pocketing the extra money on the App Fees? There are companies out there that charge $25 to run a background check.
7. Property Taxes go up and the difference is handed to the Renters without any renovations to the home or unit.  We are already helping them pay the Mortgage!

I could go on but I think you get where I'm trying to go.  People are priced out of neighborhoods and quality housing.  Make it make sense if your not suppose to spend more than 30% towards housing. The way the industry is dumping on Voucher holders is atrocious! No one wants the Homeless/Displaced population that already exists. This will add to it.  More people start piling in with family members could create mental stress where there was none before.  If you think folks are getting creative using storage facilities and tents now, hold on for this coming ride. I feel very sad and ashamed for America.
