As we move towards Winter and dark clouds start to appear on the horizon, so too is the impending decision regarding the application to build ugly tower blocks at 265 The Ridgeway.

This decision will directly affect residents and allotment holders of West Harrow and ultimately one which could affect all Harrow Residents, as the people in charge seem determined to build at whatever the cost to the quality of life for the rest of us!

At present the Planning Committee are deciding on whether to retain our green and precious space, with its lush green corridor of trees and green interconnecting land or destroy it, with MORE blocks of flats and houses.

West Harrow Allotment Association together with Harrow Conservation representatives have met regularly over the past few months, gathering data on the thriving wildlife living and moving between the allotments and The Ridgeway site.

This data has been shared with Harrow Council to ensure that the recorded information is logged and available to Councillors. The interconnection between these two sites is vital and would remain so providing the Councillors uphold their decision not to remove the Covenant on this land.

There is no requirement to provide more housing at this very concerning time when no-one knows what the future holds.  The hundreds of homes on the Kodak site, together with empty flats in Harrow and now the proposal to build another 1500 homes in Wealdstone is surely enough.

The photo shows the Brethren's 2 storey Meeting Room in the centre of what is the lush, green corridor of trees and allotments which would be obliterated and lost forever.

Thank you all again for your continuing support.
