Fife Council: Cut the grass outside Burnbank/Braeside, Kennoway NOW

The Issue

Fife Council are refusing to cut our grass. They blame biodiversity, when the Kennoway Den is next door. They blame coronavirus and say our grass is of ‘low amenity value’ when more people than ever are making use of the grass.

The grass is an eyesore, the paths cut are impractical. Ticks are populating the grass and giant hogweed threatens to spawn and take over, both are huge health risks. You can’t pick up dog poo nor walk through the grass, children can’t play outside. House prices could fall too, after all, who wants to buy a house opposite such a mess?

Fife Council haven’t listened to our views, they have given excuse after excuse, but nothing adds up. Which is why we’re taking action, by signing this petition you are calling upon Fife Council to cut our grass, to explain honestly why they have refused to do so and to involve local people in their future decision making processes. This change will mean that young children can go out to play on the grass, people can keep a safe distance whilst they exercise and people don’t have to worry about being bitten by ticks or not picking up after their dogs.

Fife Council are cutting 90% of the grass in Fife. They have decided that our grass falls into the 10% which doesn’t matter anymore.
