Discrimination between genders in sports was always one of the main topics. In our days, women are going through the same gender discrimination, as there grand grand mothers. For example, In 1967, women weren’t allowed to officially enter the Boston Marathon, so Kathrine Switzer entered that year as “K.V. Switzer” to hide her gender. In March 2017, the women’s national hockey team announced that it would boycott the coming world championship if U.S.A. Hockey, the sport’s national governing body, did not increase the women’s wages. Women in sports were always fighting for different rights, and now they are fighting for being paid as they supposed to. According to the National Partnership for Woman and Families (2017), women make 80 cents for every dollar paid to men. It is also noticed, that women play more games and train more than men, while still getting paid less. This fight is not about the money, it is about the fact, that hard work should be payed off, and most importantly, it should be payed off equally. I think every mother who has a girl whose in to soccer, or any other "men" sport, wants her daughter to have a good future. So let's change it together. With this petition, we can help our existing sport women win this unequal fight with men, and give our next female warriors a good and stable future.
