My husband was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma in March 2014 having worked as an electrician and asbestos in his early twenties. Rod's last chemotherapy regime resulted in him having a cardiac arrest and further radiation was out of the question. He has had 6 infusions every 3 weeks with Keytruda and his first scan while on Keytruda showed amazing reduction of tumours by 52% and another by 21% after receiving the first 3 treatments of Keytruda. The oncologist was so delighted with the results that she telephoned me at home with the wonderful news! Keytruda is very expensive however it is saving my husband's life! 'It is so unfair for the Government to pay for melanoma treatment but not for mesothelioma, especially as you folk contracted it merely by going to work.'
