The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has just release a brand new batch of exemptions for Section 333 for the commercial use of small drones for video and more.  However, with the current exemption the FAA is requiring the the PIC (Pilot in Command) of the drone must at the very least hold an official sport s pilot license, register your drone with an "N" number as if it is a real plane, and file flight plans.

To go through the same training as an actual pilot is just crazy. The FAA needs to develop a special aviation training manual and inexpensive test that will explain the basic air rules for small-drone pilots.  

For filmmakers and videographers that want to shoot small projects like stock footage and real estate hiring an actual pilot, who most likely does not know how to fly the drone, would make the process way too costly for any smaller client. A few hundred dollar shoot for a home may turn into a thousand dollar shoot easily if we need to book a pilot to fly.

This needs to change immediately so the professional that have been cleared to fly and capture aerial footage and photos can do their job professionally, safely, and cost effective for their clients.
