
We sincerely thank you for supporting our petition to Protect the native Flora and Fauna of Mount Glen Rock and surrounds.
On Saturday August 26th, our local Conservation group, Care4esK, will be hosting a Commmunity Wildlife Information Event at the Anglican Hall, in Ipswich Street, Esk, from 12.30pm.
The event will open with a Welcome to Country by Aunty Jannine.
Following will be Dr Michelle Maloney, founder of Australian Earth Laws Alliance, along with Care4esK President Darren Bate, to give an overview of the current Koala Project, KHaRES, that received grant funding from the Australian Federal Government.
Koala survey results will then be shared and discussed by Dr Romane Cristescu and Nicola Petersen from the University of the Sunshine Coast.
From 2pm - 3pm, Martin Fingland from Geckoes Wildlife, will give a live presentation featuring native wildlife found in our Somerset region.
Other guest presenters for the afternoon will be Bec Appleton from Bat Conservation and Rescue Queensland, Dr Rebecca Larsen from the Ipswich Koala Protection Society and Sheena Gillman from Birdlife Australia, Southern Queensland.
All will share their knowledge and expertise, and welcome questions from the audience.
There will be a selection of Raffles and Lucky Door Prizes on offer throughout the event, with thanks to the generous donations from local businesses and individuals.
