Last Sunday July 27,2020 our friend, 27year old Chidimma Ajoku and her colleague Chima Nnaekpe (29years) their lives at Ilasamaja along Oshodi/Apapa expressway, Lagos, Nigeria when a trailer with vehicle no SGM 715 XA carrying a 20feet container fell on top of the commuter bus they boarded home. What a gruesome way to die! As always the driver disappeared  from the accident scene. The cases of trailers crushing humans have recently been on the increase due to the recklessness of the drivers on our "beautiful" roads. This is rampant because the drivers and owners of these trucks are never brought to book. The bereaved families are usually thrown into untold pain and difficulties following the loss of their breadwinners. If the drivers and owners of these trucks are penalised for their menace, it will bring some sanity into them and forestall further occurrences. Chidimma until her death was the breadwinner of her family following the father's demise last year. She has left behind a widowed mother and siblings with none to cater for them. Cut in her prime, her dreams and aspirations for a better tomorrow are gone forever. We humbly appeal that the perpetrators of this fatal incident should be brought to book as a deterrent to other drivers and owners of these trucks. Please note that this petition is not in anyway targeted at raising any financial assistance rather to create awareness and draw attention of the federal and state governments to the horror created by trucks and trailers on our Nigerian roads daily. Please sign and share until it gets to the appropriate authorities in government of Nigeria. Thanks
